You are a professor at a prestigious university (congratulations) and you specialize in research on memory.  Presently, you want to determine if memory is enhanced when students recite written material “out loud” (rather than simply reading material silently).  Create an experiment to examine this issue.  In your description be sure to:

1)  describe your subjects

2)  identify the independent AND the dependent variable

3)  operationally define those variables

4)  identify the control and experimental groups

5)  describe three control techniques you should use in your study AND the threats to internal validity that they control

6)  describe what is necessary for you to conclude that reciting material aloud actually improves memory for that material.
