statuses" identified by James Marcia. In which category would you
place yourself with respect to your career goals and why.
2. Harvey Peskin's (1967) study on late-
versus early-maturing boys found that early maturity was NEGATIVELY
correlated to strength of identity and self-esteem measured at about age
30. Propose an explanation that might account for the advantage of being a
late-bloomer in adolescence.
3. You and your very best friend began
experimenting with drugs at about age 15. Now, at age 17, you realize that
your friend has developed a serious drug problem. Describe each of
Kohlberg's three stages of moral development and explain what you would do with
respect to your friend's problem if you were in each of those stages. Be
sure be clear as to WHY you would intervene or not intervene.
